In a significant boost to pilgrim facilities at the renowned Kondagattu Anjaneya Swamy temple, the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has approved ₹35.19 crore for the construction of a 96-room accommodation complex. Union Minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar welcomed the decision, stating that it was made possible through the initiative of Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan.

Taking to social media platform X, Bandi Sanjay said the new accommodation facility would ease the long-standing lodging difficulties faced by devotees and make their temple visit more comfortable. He noted that Kondagattu is one of Telangana’s most prominent spiritual centres, attracting thousands of devotees every day.

The Union Minister criticised the previous BRS government, alleging that it failed to address basic infrastructure needs at the temple despite earlier promises to allocate ₹100 crore for its development. He said devotees had suffered due to the lack of minimum facilities such as accommodation and sanitation.

Bandi Sanjay also targeted the current Congress government, accusing it of not providing funds for the temple and instead increasing charges for paid services, thereby placing an additional burden on devotees. He urged the state government to demonstrate sincerity by immediately allocating adequate funds for the overall development of Kondagattu, including accommodation, transport, and sanitation facilities.

He added that the Central government’s focus on improving pilgrim amenities, along with TTD’s cooperation in undertaking the accommodation project, would prove to be a milestone in the development of the Kondagattu temple and greatly benefit devotees.
