Telangana's infrastructure expansion gathered further momentum on Tuesday as Roads and Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy launched a series of road development projects worth ₹338 crore in Ibrahimpatnam mandal , describing them as a key step toward building a safer, faster and more connected transport network around Hyderabad.

The projects, being taken up under the Hybrid Annuity Model (HAM) , cover the upgradation of 14 roads stretching 149 kilometres across the Hyderabad Rural region. The foundation stone was laid at Thorrur village , where the minister said the government is committed to delivering modern infrastructure that meets the needs of rapidly growing urban and semi-urban communities.

Speaking at the event, Komatireddy noted that Telangana is undertaking one of its most ambitious road modernisation programmes, with the state planning to improve 441 roads spanning 6,092 kilometres under 34 HAM packages at an estimated investment of nearly ₹13,000 crore . The initiative was formally launched by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and is aimed at strengthening connectivity across districts while supporting economic growth.

The minister emphasised that quality, durability and road safety are central to the government's infrastructure strategy. Beyond improving travel conditions, the upgraded roads are expected to facilitate trade, attract investment and generate employment by improving access between residential, commercial and industrial zones.

The latest package includes key corridors connecting Hayathnagar, Thorrur, Koheda, Anajpur, Abdullapurmet, Bandaraviryal, Kuntloor, Pasumamula, Taramatipet, Injapur, Brahmanpally and Ragannaguda . Many of these areas have witnessed rapid expansion in recent years due to their proximity to Hyderabad's growth corridors and major transport networks.

A notable feature of the project is the construction of modern four-lane roads equipped with central divider lighting , a move expected to significantly improve visibility and safety for commuters. The upgraded corridors will serve the Assembly constituencies of Ibrahimpatnam, Maheshwaram, Medchal and LB Nagar , enhancing connectivity for thousands of residents and businesses.

According to the minister, the new road network will help reduce congestion, shorten travel times and lower accident risks on some of the region's busiest routes. Improved mobility is also expected to stimulate economic activity, strengthen rural-urban linkages and support the long-term development of Hyderabad's eastern and southeastern suburbs.

Local MLA Malreddy Ranga Reddy , MPs Kiran Kumar Chamakura , Etala Rajender and K. Vishweshwar Reddy , MLC Shankar Naik , along with public representatives and senior officials, attended the programme.
