
25 Trainee DSPs Graduate From Tamil Nadu Police Academy, CM Vijay Awards Medals
Twenty-five trainee Deputy Superintendents of Police, including 11 women, graduated from the Tamil Nadu Police Academy (TNPA) in Oonamanchery, Chengalpattu district, on Wednesday, marking the completion of their specialised training.
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay reviewed the passing-out parade of the 14th batch of DSPs and presented medals to probationary officers who excelled during the training programme.
D Aneesh Pradeep was awarded the Sword of Honour, Chief Minister’s Trophy and Gold Medal for overall excellence. O Karthika received the Silver Medal, while P S Divya was awarded the Bronze Medal. The newly trained officers underwent a 52-week comprehensive foundation programme designed to prepare them for various responsibilities in policing and public administration.
The course covered legal studies, cybercrime, investigation techniques, community policing and the use of modern technologies, including the Crime and Criminal Tracking Network and Systems (CCTNS).
As part of the practical training, the probationers underwent a 10-day jungle warfare module conducted with the Special Task Force. They also gained field experience while being deployed during the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, Jallikattu events and New Year celebrations.
The training was aimed at equipping the officers to handle conventional policing duties as well as emerging challenges involving technology and organised crime. Before assuming their field responsibilities, the newly inducted DSPs took an oath pledging to provide unbiased public service. The oath was administered before Director General of Police Mahesh Kumar Aggarwal.
Assembly Speaker J C D Prabhakar, state ministers T Sarathkumar and N Marie Wilson, Chief Secretary M Saikumar, Additional Chief Secretary K Manivasan and TNPA Director Rajiv Kumar were among those present at the passing-out ceremony.
The graduation marks the formal induction of the 25 officers into the state police service following a year-long training programme combining classroom instruction, specialised modules and practical field exposure.
