24 dermatologists, 24 hours, Guinness record: Dermathon redefines skincare education
Science-backed skincare brand Deconstruct has made history by setting a Guinness world records™ title for “The Longest Skincare Livestream” through its pioneering 24-Hour Dermathon, a first-of-its-kind national skincare education marathon.
The landmark event, streamed live on YouTube, brought together 24 dermatologists who engaged over 30,000 participants nationwide, generating more than 500,000 real-time interactions. Participants posed around 200,000 skincare questions, with 10,000 answered live, making it a record-breaking and interactive digital health event.
Officially certified by Guinness world records™, the feat marks a defining moment for India’s skincare landscape, combining science, accessibility, and expert engagement at an unprecedented scale.
A 24-Hour Movement for Skincare Education :
Conceptualised as a nationwide educational initiative, Dermathon aimed to bridge the gap between expert skincare knowledge and everyday consumer understanding. Dermatologists including Dr. Anupriya Goel, Dr. Neha Solanki, Dr. Aditya Walingkar, Dr. Radhika Trivedi, Dr. Devendra, Dr. Rashi Soni, and Dr. Videhi, among others, addressed key skin concerns such as acne, pigmentation, sun protection, ingredient literacy, and routine building.
Voices Behind the Record :
Speaking on the milestone, Malini Adapureddy, Founder and CEO of Deconstruct Skincare, said: _“Dermathon has been a defining moment for us, not just because of the Guinness world records title, but because of the unprecedented participation we witnessed across the country. Dermatologists played a pivotal role in making complex skincare science understandable and actionable, bridging the gap between expert knowledge and everyday concerns. These conversations reinforced our belief that large-scale, expert-led initiatives can build long-term trust in skincare.”_
Dr. Anupriya Goel, a leading dermatologist and prominent digital voice, praised the initiative’s impact: _“The 24-Hour Dermathon was truly one-of-a-kind. It united dermatologists to share authentic, science-backed skincare knowledge on a national stage. Achieving the Guinness world records title sends a strong message that skincare education should be credible, accessible, and rooted in evidence not fleeting trends.”_
Dr. Neha Solanki added: _“Earning the Guinness world records title made the Dermathon even more special. It reinforced the importance of choosing products that are effective, gentle, and tailored to individual needs, instead of being driven by trends or hype.”_
Official Recognition and Purpose :
The record certificate was presented by Mr. Swapnil Dangarikar, Senior Adjudicator at Guinness world records, who acknowledged the initiative’s uniqueness and difficulty, commending Deconstruct’s effort to combine purpose with achievement.
By prioritising education over promotion, Dermathon successfully countered misinformation in skincare conversations online, addressing a growing national demand for science-based guidance, especially among beginners and individuals in regions with limited access to dermatologists.
