
20th FICCI higher education summit 2025
The 20th edition of the FICCI Higher Education Summit 2025 began on Monday at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, bringing together education leaders, policymakers, and innovators from India and abroad to discuss the future of higher education in a rapidly transforming world. Organized by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI), the summit’s theme this year is “Higher Education in a Transforming World: Bridging Borders, Building Futures.”
Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari inaugurated the summit and addressed delegates, emphasizing the importance of innovation, skill development, and sustainability in shaping India’s academic and economic future. Linking education to national growth, Gadkari highlighted India’s need to invest in research, green technologies, and industry-aligned curricula. He also remarked that electric vehicle (EV) prices are expected to reach parity with petrol vehicles within the next six months, underlining the country’s rapid technological progress and focus on self-reliance.
The summit features plenary sessions, international exhibitions, and roundtable discussions involving vice-chancellors, global university leaders, and representatives from the education technology sector. Over 1,000 delegates from 70 countries, along with 50+ exhibitors, are participating in this year’s event. The summit also includes the 10th FICCI Higher Education Excellence Awards, recognizing outstanding institutions for innovation, research, and contribution to nation-building. Notably, Ashoka University received the “University of the Year (Emerging)” award for its academic excellence and interdisciplinary approach.
The FICCI Higher Education Summit continues to serve as a vital platform for advancing collaboration between academia, industry, and government-paving the way for India’s vision of becoming a global education hub by 2047.
