2025 Sirsa Grenade Attack: NIA Chargesheet Against Nine Accused, Two From Pakistan
The National Investigation Agency has filed a chargesheet against nine accused , including two Pakistani nationals, in connection with the 2025 grenade attack on a women’s police station in Sirsa , officials said on Tuesday.
The chargesheet was filed before a special NIA court in Panchkula. The agency said the case is part of a larger conspiracy to spread terror in India by targeting police establishments and personnel using cross-border networks.
The incident took place on November 25, 2025 , when a grenade was hurled at the women’s police station in Sirsa during the night. While there were no casualties , the blast damaged parts of the building and triggered a high-security alert across Haryana. The attack also intensified concerns over foreign-backed terror modules operating through digital platforms .
According to the NIA, the conspiracy was orchestrated by Pakistan-based handlers Shahzad Bhatti and Sohail Ahmad alias Sohail Baloch , who allegedly used social media platforms and encrypted communication channels to recruit and radicalise operatives in India.
The accused identified in the chargesheet include Indian operatives Dheeraj alias Dhiru (principal India-based coordinator) , Vikas alias Vikky , Sandeep alias Daimar , Vikas , Sushil alias Sillu , Md Sijaan alias Ghazi , and Gurjant Singh , along with the two Pakistan-based handlers.
Investigators said operational modules were created inside India , with Dheeraj coordinating ground-level execution. After reconnaissance of targets , the group allegedly selected the Sirsa women’s police station for the attack.
The probe further found that some accused travelled to Amritsar to procure the grenade used in the attack . The attack was also reportedly recorded on a mobile phone for circulation and propaganda purposes , the agency said.
The NIA added that communication with Pakistan-based handlers continued even after the blast, indicating an ongoing chain of command. The investigation has established links involving recruitment, financing, logistics, procurement of explosives, and execution under foreign direction .
The agency said it is continuing to probe the larger conspiracy, financial networks, and foreign linkages , and efforts are underway to trace absconding accused.
