2 Fatal Road Tragedies in UP: Toddler Crushed by School Bus, Man Killed in Separate Crash

A heartbreaking day unfolded in Amethi as two separate road accidents claimed the lives of a three-year-old child and a 40-year-old man , police said on Wednesday.

In the first incident, Ujaib Mohammad (3) from Kazim Ali village under Musafirkhana police limits was killed after being hit by a speeding private school bus while playing near his home on Wednesday morning. The bus, reportedly belonging to Growth Public School , lost control and ran over the child, killing him instantly. The driver fled the spot, leaving the vehicle behind.

Police have seized the bus and launched a search operation to trace the absconding driver. Musafirkhana SHO Vivek Singh confirmed that the body has been sent for post-mortem and legal action is underway.

In a separate incident late Tuesday night, Santosh Ojha (around 40) , a resident of Medan Mawai village, died after his motorcycle was hit by an unidentified vehicle near Madhavpur village on the Raebareli–Sultanpur highway under Gauriganj police station limits. He was returning home after attending a wedding when the accident occurred.

Gauriganj SHO Arun Kumar Mishra said a case has been registered against an unknown vehicle. CCTV footage and other evidence are being examined to identify the vehicle involved.

Both tragedies have once again raised concerns over road safety, reckless driving, and hit and run incidents in the region.
