195 Kisses in 30 Seconds! Brazilian Couple Breaks Guinness World Record
A Brazilian couple has stunned the internet by claiming a new Guinness World Record for the most kisses shared in 30 seconds by a pair, locking lips an astonishing 195 times. Renato Bayma Gaia , 32, and his girlfriend Naiara Roberta Ribeiro de Marins , 33, achieved the rapid fire feat just in time for International Kissing Day , turning their affection into an official world title.
During the attempt, Renato planted swift kisses on Naiara's cheek without pause, while she smiled throughout the challenge. The couple, both doctors who worked on the frontline during the coronavirus pandemic, have been together for around eighteen months. They said they wanted to prove they are the " best couple in the world ," and the record gave them exactly that validation.
This is not Renato's first entry into the record books. He previously earned titles for the fastest time to set up and topple ten books, clocked at 6.68 seconds, and the largest foot rotation by a male, measured at 210.66 degrees. With this latest achievement, Renato believes he has become the Brazilian with the most Guinness World Records , and he specifically wanted Naiara's name etched alongside his own in record history.
A taekwondo black belt , Renato describes himself as "addicted to winning." He is also a bone marrow donor living with ADHD, and said he hopes his record breaking journey proves that people with ADHD are capable of achieving anything they set their minds to.
The duo are not stopping here. They have already set their sights on a tougher challenge, the record for most kisses in one minute by a pair, currently held by Japan's Cherry Yoshitake and Kumiko Shiratori at 277 kisses. Renato says he hopes his relentless record chasing inspires more Brazilians to attempt their own Guinness challenges.
However, the viral moment has not been universally celebrated. The record has sparked a wave of online backlash , with several social media users questioning why kissing should count as an official world record at all, calling the attempt cringeworthy even as it racked up views worldwide.
