
182 Honorary Posts Notified in AP Child Welfare, Juvenile Justice Panels
The Government of Andhra Pradesh has issued a notification inviting applications for 182 positions in child welfare and juvenile justice bodies across the State. The recruitment is being undertaken by the Department of Juvenile Welfare, Correctional Services and Welfare of Street Children (JWCS&WSC AP) under the Women and Child Development framework.
The notification covers the appointment of Chairpersons and Members of Child Welfare Committees (CWC) and Social Worker Members of Juvenile Justice Boards (JJB). Of the total vacancies, 130 posts are for CWCs and 52 posts are for JJBs, spread across all districts of Andhra Pradesh.
Applications are to be submitted online through the official website https://wdcw.ap.gov.in/ . The last date for submission is December 22, 2025 .
According to the notification, applicants must be residents of Andhra Pradesh and should be between 35 and 65 years of age. Candidates are required to possess a degree from a recognised Indian university, preferably in disciplines such as child psychology, psychiatry, law, social work, sociology, health sciences, education, human development, medicine, or special education.
In addition to academic qualifications, a minimum of seven years of experience working with children in the fields of health, education, welfare, or child protection has been prescribed. Practising professionals in relevant fields, including advocates, doctors, psychologists and social workers, are also eligible, subject to conditions. Practising advocates are required to submit a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the concerned Bar Association, Bar Council or Legal Services Authority.
For appointments to the Child Welfare Committees , candidates should have a proven track record of service in child welfare activities and must demonstrate a child-friendly approach. For Juvenile Justice Board Social Worker Members , experience in the implementation of child-related government programmes for at least three years is considered desirable.
The notification makes it clear that these appointments are honorary in nature , and selected candidates will be paid an honorarium or sitting allowance as fixed by the State Government. These posts do not carry regular government pay scales.
Several eligibility restrictions have also been specified. Applicants should not be serving government employees, should not hold any office in a political party during their tenure, and should not have been convicted of offences involving moral turpitude. Individuals with a history of human rights or child rights violations, involvement in child abuse or child labour, or association with child care institutions are not eligible. Persons or organisations receiving foreign contributions are also barred from applying for CWC posts.
District-wise vacancies have been notified across the State, ensuring representation in all Child Welfare Committees and Juvenile Justice Boards.
