17 Telangana Rising Global Summit Projects Begin Operations: Sridhar Babu

Seventeen projects signed under the Telangana Rising Global Summit have already moved from paper to operations, while several others are at different stages of implementation, Industries Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu told the Legislative Assembly on Friday.

Responding to questions during the Question Hour, the minister said 75 MoUs were signed at the Telangana Rising Global Summit held in December last year. Of these, 17 projects have become operational, while work on the remaining projects is progressing through various stages.

The minister also said the state government had signed 108 MoUs with investors during 2025–26, covering sectors including information technology, data centres and other emerging industries. He said the government was continuing its efforts to position Telangana as an attractive destination for domestic and global investments.

According to Sridhar Babu, the government is using multiple platforms to bring investments into the state, including the Telangana Rising Global Summit, BioAsia, national and international roadshows and sector-specific conferences. A dedicated investor facilitation mechanism has also been put in place to help companies navigate the approval and implementation process.

The minister said nodal officers had been appointed to coordinate with investors and address issues that could delay projects. At the same time, he acknowledged that an MoU does not automatically translate into a completed investment project, as proposals can change or be dropped for various reasons. However, he said the government was making every effort to convert investment commitments into actual projects.

On industrial development around Hyderabad, Sridhar Babu alleged that the previous BRS government had proposed allowing highly polluting ‘red category’ industries in the Pharma City on the outskirts of the city. The present government, he said, was instead encouraging green pharmaceutical industries with a greater focus on environmental sustainability.

The government is also extending incentives to micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and promoting industrial corridors with an emphasis on exports, he said. Green-category industries are being encouraged as part of the state's broader strategy to combine investment-led growth with environmental considerations.
