
₹15 Crore Narcotics Seized in Faridabad Raid, 3 Foreign Nationals Arrested
Three foreign nationals were arrested and narcotics valued at around ₹15 crore were seized during a joint operation by the NIT Crime Branch, Faridabad, and the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), Delhi, police said on Wednesday.
Acting on information about foreign nationals allegedly possessing narcotics in the Lakkarpur area, teams from the NIT Crime Branch and NCB Delhi conducted a search at a rented premises in Shiv Durga Vihar, Lakkarpur, on Tuesday night.
The search of the second floor of House No 16 was carried out under a warrant and led to the recovery of a large quantity of suspected narcotics, police said.
According to ACP (Crime), Faridabad, Aman Yadav, the substances were tested by the Delhi NCB team and returned positive for cocaine and amphetamine.
The seizure included 2.337 kg of cocaine, 26 grams of amphetamine, 1.378 kg of a suspected narcotic substance and ₹50,000 in cash. The estimated international market value of the seized drugs is around ₹15 crore, the officer said.
The arrested accused have been identified as Ifeanyi Emmanuel and Bell John alias Enudun Emmanuel, both Nigerian nationals, and Remy alias Amos Ovie, a citizen of Cameroon. Police said the three were residing as tenants at the premises. Their passport-related documents are also being examined.
During the raid, police also found 10 other people from African countries residing at the property on rent. Officials said they failed to provide satisfactory responses regarding their documents and stay.
Their documents are being verified by the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO), Delhi. If the documents are found to be invalid, deportation proceedings will be initiated, police said.
The three arrested persons have been taken on police remand. Investigators are questioning them about the source, supply network and intended distribution of the narcotics, besides probing other individuals who may be linked to the consignment, Yadav said.
