11-Year-Old Boy Dies By Suicide After Alleged Reprimand Over ₹100 In Haryana Village

An 11-year-old boy was found dead at his home in Chhainsa village after allegedly taking the extreme step following a reprimand from his mother over missing money, police said on Sunday.

According to officials, the incident occurred after the child reportedly took ₹100 without informing anyone at home. His mother is said to have reprimanded him and warned that she would inform his father about the incident.

Distressed by the situation, the child went to the terrace of the house , where he was later found unresponsive. Family members, after searching for him, discovered him on the terrace and immediately raised an alarm. Neighbours rushed to the spot and helped take the boy to a nearby hospital.

However, doctors declared him dead on arrival , stating that he had already succumbed before medical intervention. Police said preliminary assessment suggests he had been in that condition for around 15-20 minutes before being discovered.

A senior police officer said the body was handed over to the family after a postmortem examination . “The deceased was the youngest of four siblings. Further investigation is underway to ascertain the exact circumstances leading to the incident,” the officer added.

Police have registered a case and are continuing their inquiry.
