
100 selected for free civil services coaching through BC study circle: Minister Savita
The Andhra Pradesh government has selected 100 candidates for free Civil Services coaching through the BC Study Circle, announced Minister for BC & EBC Welfare, Handlooms, and Textiles, S. Savita.
Out of 864 applicants, 723 appeared for the screening test, and the final selection of 100 candidates was made based on merit and reservation rules. The certificates of selected candidates will be verified at the BC Study Circle in Gollapudi on December 12, and the training sessions, conducted by the La-Excellence IAS Institute from Hyderabad, will begin on December 14. The list of selected candidates was officially released at a press conference held at the State Secretariat.
Minister Savita emphasized that the coalition government is committed to helping BC students reach greater heights by offering free coaching through BC Study Circles. The screening test for the 2025-26 Civil Services coaching was conducted on December 7 across seven district centers. Among the selected candidates, 66% are from BC, 20% from SC, and 14% from ST communities, with 33% of seats reserved for women.
Highlighting the previous government’s neglect of BC welfare, Minister Savita said the current coalition government is actively implementing several initiatives to support BC students. In 2024-25, 83 candidates received Civil Services coaching, and through BC Study Circles, 6,500 students benefited from mega DSC coaching programs both online and offline. Additionally, 250 BC candidates have been selected as teachers. The BC Study Circles have also received prestigious recognition awards for their work.
The minister further mentioned that the government has invested Rs. 141 crore for the maintenance of BC hostels and gurukuls. Measures such as RO plants, inverters, CCTV cameras, and the construction of 843 new toilets are underway to improve living conditions. Quality education and nutritious food are being ensured, and counseling centers will soon be set up in hostels following Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu’s directions. Plans for additional student support under the “Adarana 3” program are also underway. Specialized training for IIT and NEET aspirants is being provided in certain district schools for both boys and girls.
Among the selected candidates, the top performers include D. Srinath (BC-D, Nellore) with 94 marks securing the first rank among men, followed by A. Venkata Durga Ganesh (BC-D, Krishna) with 91 marks in second place. Several candidates, including M. Edkonda (BC-D, Prakasam), S. Tatayya (BC-A, West Godavari), Y. Venugopal (BC-A, Kurnool), and G. Koteswara Rao (BC-A, Prakasam), shared the third rank with 90 marks.
Among female candidates, K.G. Shantamma (BC-A, Satyasai District) topped with 89 marks, followed by K. Jyothi Sri (BC, Turpu Godavari) with 85 marks. The third rank went to Kirthisai (BC-A, Satyasai), Lalithajyothi (BC-B, Anantapur), and G. Pooja (BC-D, Prakasam) with 84 marks each.
State BC Welfare Secretary S. Satyanarayana, Additional Director Chandrashekhar Raju, and Joint Director Tanujarani were also present at the event.
