
‘100% Effort, 100% Results’: Chandrababu Highlights AP’s Welfare Push
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu declared that the coalition government has delivered “100 per cent effort and 100 per cent results” during its 23-month tenure, presenting a detailed account of welfare programmes, infrastructure expansion, industrial investments, and governance reforms at the seventh District Collectors’ Conference.
The Chief Minister said the government has focused on balancing welfare and development simultaneously while positioning Andhra Pradesh as a leading state in investment, infrastructure, social security, and technology-driven governance.
According to the government, pensions worth Rs 63,000 crore have been distributed under the NTR Bharosa scheme during the last 23 months. Officials said the state is currently spending nearly Rs 34,000 crore annually on social security pensions through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), covering senior citizens, widows, differently-abled persons, and other vulnerable sections.
The government stated that around 63 lakh beneficiaries are receiving pensions under various categories, with women accounting for nearly 59 per cent of beneficiaries. It also projected that pension expenditure could touch nearly Rs 1.6 lakh crore over five years .
Naidu highlighted nearly 100 welfare initiatives introduced since the coalition government assumed office. Under Thalliki Vandhanam , the government said Rs 10,090 crore was provided to 67.27 lakh students , while the Sthree Shakti scheme facilitated 63.61 crore free bus journeys for women in state-run buses.
Under Divyang Shakti , nearly 20.51 lakh free journeys were provided to differently-abled citizens. The government also stated that Deepam-2 distributed nearly 4 crore LPG cylinders to beneficiaries.
The administration highlighted the revival of Anna Canteens , stating that 269 centres have collectively served nearly 9.15 crore subsidised meals to daily wage workers, labourers, migrant workers, and urban poor families.
As part of welfare measures for occupational groups, the government said assistance worth Rs 250 crore was extended to fishermen, while benefits worth Rs 436 crore were reportedly provided to nearly 2.90 lakh auto drivers . It also said targeted welfare support was extended to weavers, lawyers, and minority communities.
According to official figures, the government allocated nearly Rs 3,670 crore for minority welfare and continued honorariums for pastors, imams, mouzans, purohits, and nayi brahmins.
In the agriculture sector, Naidu stated that under Annadata Sukhibhava , financial assistance worth Rs 8,985 crore was credited to nearly 46 lakh farmers .
The coalition government also projected the P4 (People-Public-Private Partnership) model as a flagship poverty eradication initiative. Officials said nearly 2 lakh “Golden Families” are currently receiving guidance and support under the programme, while the broader initiative has reportedly expanded to cover more than 10 lakh families through volunteers, donors, and mentors.
The government said the P4 initiative forms a major component of its long-term Swarnandhra 2047 vision aimed at building a poverty-free and economically strong Andhra Pradesh by 2047.
Naidu reiterated that Andhra Pradesh aims to transform into a $2.4 trillion economy by 2047 , with emphasis on industrial growth, infrastructure expansion, employment generation, and technology-driven development.
On infrastructure, the Chief Minister reaffirmed Amaravati as the permanent capital of Andhra Pradesh, referring to the Central Gazette notification backing the capital city project.
He said works are progressing on several major infrastructure projects, including the Vijayawada-Machilipatnam six-lane road , Mulapeta-Visakhapatnam-Kakinada beach corridor , and the proposed Nagpur-Amaravati highway . He also referred to plans related to the proposed Hyderabad-Amaravati-Chennai bullet train corridor .
According to the government, nearly 20,060 kilometres of pothole-free roads have been developed, while the Palle Panduga initiative has facilitated construction of around 4,000 kilometres of rural roads . Tribal connectivity projects and expansion of 4G services to remote villages were also highlighted.
In irrigation, officials said nearly Rs 24,000 crore has been spent during the past 23 months. The government stated that the diaphragm wall works of the Polavaram Project have been completed, while around Rs 2,000 crore has been allocated for rehabilitation and resettlement.
Naidu said the first phase of the Veligonda Project is expected to be completed by July. The government also highlighted repairs of Tungabhadra gates and revival of 6,047 irrigation societies through elections.
The administration further said Andhra Pradesh attracted nearly 25.3 per cent of national investments , earning the state the “Business Reformer of the Year” recognition.
According to official data presented at the conference, 538 MoUs worth Rs 11.38 lakh crore were signed during the CII Summit, with projected employment generation for nearly 13.95 lakh people . Additionally, investments worth Rs 11.37 lakh crore were reportedly approved through SIPB meetings, with employment potential for another 10 lakh people .
Major investment proposals highlighted by the government included projects by LG , Carrier AC , ArcelorMittal , Google , and Reliance in sectors such as steel, artificial intelligence, data centres, and green energy.
The Chief Minister also stressed expansion of digital governance through the Mana Mitra WhatsApp platform , which currently offers 1,035 public services , while directing officials to bring all government services online by December.
Naidu said Andhra Pradesh is positioning itself as a future hub for logistics, artificial intelligence, quantum technologies, green energy, and advanced manufacturing while maintaining focus on welfare delivery and inclusive economic growth.
